My lessons are structured, engaging and completely tailored to the individual student. I use a clear format so students know what to expect, while keeping sessions flexible enough to follow their interests, needs and pace.

Sessions typically begin with a short check-in and recap, followed by a clear learning goal. We then explore the topic through questioning, discussion, modelling and activities, building knowledge and understanding step-by-step. I use thematic and concept-based learning to help students make connections between ideas rather than simply memorising facts. We finish by reviewing what has been learned and identifying the next steps.

I have five years’ experience working in a specialist secondary school, teaching and supporting learners from KS1–KS4. I have designed and delivered curriculum, taught through thematic approaches, developed concept-based learning, and supported students with a wide range of learning needs.

Most importantly, I want students to feel that lessons are a safe, positive and collaborative space. I build relationships first, adapt my approach to the learner in front of me, and balance encouragement with appropriate challenge. My aim is not just to help students complete their work, but to develop their confidence, curiosity and independence as learners.
