My lessons are one-to-one, normally online but can be in-person if preferred. When we get started, I will get a clear picture of your strengths, weaknesses and targets through open discussion and relaxed assessment, then plan personalised lessons that focus on giving you help where it's needed the most. No two students are the same, so my lessons are flexible: if a topic isn't clicking, I'll adapt on the spot and approach it from a different angle. I can adapt to different teaching styles and paces, as I have tutored for over a year with students that have a range of abilities, preferences and needs.

I believe learning should be active. In each lesson, I will go through each topic with you, explaining step-by-step, and then we will work through exam or worksheet questions together with you at the forefront. I will encourage you to talk through your thinking, attempt questions independently, and ask questions freely: it is important to me that you have a full understanding of whatever I teach, so I won't move on until I am sure of this. Mistakes are part of the process and we’ll always turn them into new learning opportunities.

Every lesson feeds into the next: I'll regularly recap previous topics and use short, low-pressure checks to make sure understanding is actually sticking. To track progress, I'll revisit past areas of struggle, use exam questions where appropriate, and record progress for each student so I can maintain an open conversation between me, the student, and their parents about how things are going.
