Bethany Lidford

Hello! My name is Bethany, and I have recently completed my PGCE in Secondary Mathematics alongside a BSc (Hons) in Education Studies with Mathematics. Through my experience teaching in secondary schools, I have worked with students across Years 7 to 11, helping learners of all abilities build confidence and improve their understanding of mathematics.

Although I am new to private tutoring, I have experience planning and delivering maths lessons in the classroom and understand that every student learns differently. I believe there is no single teaching method that works for everyone, so I tailor each lesson to the individual student’s needs, learning style and goals.

I offer one-to-one GCSE maths tuition with lessons lasting one hour. Whether you are struggling with a particular topic, preparing for mock exams, or aiming to improve your final GCSE grade, I will create lessons that focus on the areas where you need the most support. My lessons include clear explanations, worked examples, plenty of opportunities to practise questions independently, and regular feedback to help build confidence and understanding.

I aim to create a relaxed, supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes. My goal is not only to improve grades but also to help students develop the confidence to tackle maths independently.

I am passionate about helping students realise that maths is a skill that can be developed with the right support and practice. I take pride in celebrating progress, no matter how small, and helping every student reach their full potential.
