I will always strive for the best in every aspect of my teaching, from creating quality learning experiences and learning to be a positive role model. I have developed effective strategies to engage all learners and enhance learning through technology. Moreover, I have gained lots of experience with assessment, through the following programmes: North Lanarkshire Literacy programme and Stages of Early Arithmetic Learning (SEAL). The Salford sentence reading test allows me to assess reading and identify next steps to help them achieve success. Each assessment allows me to identify the individual progress and next steps for every child and to confidently report progress to parents. Additionally, they have developed my subject knowledge. Through my teaching career I have gained experience in Complex Needs and how to differentiate for individual children. This has allowed me to gain knowledge in the National curriculum up to National 3. I am able to work with students with Autism through experience. I am patient, calm but lots of fun! I like to ensure my lessons are engaging and exciting to ensure my students are excited about all subjects they are learning. I also like to work closely with parents where possible to ensure they have a good insight into their child’s progression and progress. I have worked endlessly to create a nurturing and safe environment for all of my students. I like to take 5 minutes to listen to the children’s day, weekend and/or holiday. Through organisation and positive behaviour management I create differentiated lessons that suit each individual with particular focus on children presenting with Autism Spectrum Disorder. A well-structured lesson, requiring excellent organisation skills, had a positive impact on children’s learning
