Hi, oder besser, Hallo!

I've taught German at degree, A Level and GCSE for 30 years now, and want to continue to work one to one with anyone who would like to learn this beautiful language, or would like to improve. My students value my professional and friendly approach, the resources I use, and the way I tailor my lessons to suit their individual requirements. My most recent experience this year (2026) is teaching German A level in a large 6th Form College. All my students do well, I have taught Edexcel and AQA. I can teach literature, film and oral and listening exercises, as well as speaking of course.

I lived in Germany (Heidelberg, Berlin and Halle) for 4 years, and go back every year, so my German is still fluent. I really love Germany, the culture and the history and the geography! My favourite city is definitely Berlin, where so much is happening, but I also love the coast and the lakes. I learnt German myself in school and College and University so understand the frustrations we can experience as non native speakers! In particular around the grammar... I believe in learning a little bit every day, whether through listening to the News, the radio, podcasts etc, or simply reading something in German and writing down the vocabulary that's new! I can recommend lots of resources for you too. If you practise when we're not meeting you will always improve.
