I am a graduate with degrees in Biological Sciences (BSc Hons) and Biotechnology & Bioscience Enterpise (MPhil); and a passion for science, education, and self-development. I excelled during my academic career, earning a number of research scholarships to study cancer and the immune system. I also established a not-for-profit social enterprise, connecting underperforming students at university with their peers.

Whilst I am motivated to achieve & excel personally, I have always found a lot of satisfaction helping others develop & learn - this has naturally led me into various teaching & mentoring roles. I have taught Maths & Science to a post-graduate level, but have mainly focussed from 11+ to A-level in private tuition.

The tutor-tutee relationship is one I treat with a lot of respect, and one which I find really fulfilling! I take an individual approach with each one of my students: it's critical to meet students where they are, according to their specific requirements, timelines, goals and learning styles.

Our first lesson is half price, and I also offer free 15-30 minute slots to discuss your needs and see if we could work together effectively. It is often important for parents, children and myself to working together.

In general, I aim both to foster a student's interest in a subject whilst building foundational knowledge & understanding of the subject. For Biology & Science, in particular, building this foundation does require studying & memorising quite a lot of material. I help student's develop their own learning plan & strategies to help with studying and recall, in order to tackle this.. With a strong theoretical foundation, a student can then focus on applying their knowledge to exams, coursework or any other goals, as needed.
