I am a qualified primary education teacher with a passion for making learning enjoyable, engaging and meaningful. Having worked in primary education since 2016, I have extensive classroom experience, with a particular specialism in Key Stage 1 (KS1)

I believe every child learns differently, and I love finding creative ways to make learning accessible, exciting and rewarding. My aim is to nurture each child’s confidence, celebrate their progress and help them develop the skills they need to thrive, both academically and personally.

?? My Areas of Expertise

Early Reading and Phonics

Phonics lead for my last school and have six years of experience teaching phonics and extensive knowledge of the Read Write Inc. programme and Phonics Play. I can support children in developing their phonics knowledge, reading fluency, comprehension and confidence, building strong foundations for future learning.

KS1 SATs Preparation

I have considerable experience preparing children for and administering KS1 SATs. I can help children consolidate key skills, become familiar with assessment-style questions and approach their learning with greater confidence, using supportive and engaging activities tailored to their individual needs.

Primary Curriculum Support

I can provide personalised support across the primary curriculum, including English, maths, reading, writing and other foundation subjects. My background also includes art and textiles, allowing me to bring creativity and practical activities into learning wherever possible.

?? My Qualifications and Experience

Alongside my teaching qualification, I hold a Foundation Degree in Bioscience (FdSc) and a BA Open degree, which includes studies in children's literature, statistical thinking and sports psychology. I also hold an NVQ in Art and Textiles.

This varied academic and creative background allows me to offer a well-rounded approach to primary education, combining academic development with creativity, curiosity and practical learning.

I believe learning should be positive, engaging and tailored to the individual child. I aim to create a supportive environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and celebrating their achievements.

Whether your child needs extra help with phonics and early reading, support with maths and English, preparation for assessments, or simply a little extra confidence, I will work with you to identify their needs and create sessions that help them progress at their own pace.

I offer tutoring from my own dedicated space at home, providing a welcoming environment where children can focus, explore and enjoy learning.

My goal is simple: to help every child feel confident, capable and excited about learning.
