My lessons are interactive and tailored to each student's needs. I'm happy to adapt my teaching style and lesson format to suit each student, whether they learn best through visual resources, verbal explanations or a more question-based approach. I usually begin with a short recap of previous topics using active recall, before moving on to the main lesson. This includes a mix of teaching new concepts and working through exam-style questions to test understanding and develop exam technique. I encourage students to participate by explaining concepts in their own words, helping them build confidence and develop a deeper understanding of the topic. We finish with a recap of the key points and a discussion to identify any difficult areas that we can revisit in future lessons. Regularly revisiting topics and practising exam questions helps students consolidate their knowledge and retain information for longer.
Through my experience tutoring GCSE Science and Maths, I have developed a patient and adaptable teaching style, with a focus on creating a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning from their mistakes.
