As a dedicated chemistry educator, I believe teaching is not merely imparting facts about formulas, but fostering a sense of wonder about the molecular world. My classroom is a space where chemistry comes alive by bridging the gap between theoretical abstract concepts and everyday phenomena.
My teaching method focuses on a hands-on, inquiry-based approach rather than traditional passive learning. I implement the 5E Model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate), which encourages students to explore chemical principles through experimentation before formal explanation. For instance, instead of just lecturing on reaction rates, I have students investigate factors affecting the rate of reaction using household materials like effervescent tablets. This approach fosters critical thinking, allowing students to "struggle" with new concepts in a supported environment.

I believe in utilizing technology and visual aids to make the invisible visible—such as interactive PhET simulations for atomic structure or molecular modeling software to understand 3D bonding structures. Practical laboratory experience is essential, ensuring my students move past rote memorization to truly understanding safety, methodology, and result analysis.

Reflecting on my experience, I have learned that the most effective chemistry teachers are those who can create a safe, engaging environment where mistakes are treated as data points for learning. I often hear "Why do we have to know this?" so I prioritize connecting chemical principles to real-world applications, such as identifying the chemistry behind cooking, environmental protection, or medicine.
My goal is to equip students not only with chemical knowledge but with the analytical skills needed to make informed decisions in their lives.
