During my time at school, I was a highly active peer tutor, delivering extensive maths support to younger students across Key Stage 3 and GCSE. This hands-on experience allowed me to work with students of all abilities, from those struggling with core numeracy concepts to those aiming for top grades. Having successfully navigated the system myself to achieve an A* at GCSE and a predicted A* at A-Level, I know exactly where students tend to trip up. My school tutoring background taught me how to adapt my explanation styles on the spot, break down intimidating algebraic or geometric formulas into manageable steps, and build a relaxed environment where students feel comfortable asking questions. I excel at translating abstract classroom lessons into practical, exam-focused techniques that build genuine confidence and deliver measurable progress.
