I am a qualified teacher and have now been working as a Secondary school teacher in the UK for the last 8 years teaching Spanish, French and Latin. This experience has helped me to acquire a good understanding of the different teaching and learning strategies and the ability to target specific help and plan for all ability groups.
I have a degree in Spanish and English with a Mention in Italian from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. During my degree, I spent a term teaching English in a Primary School in Barcelona. Moreover, I tutored English to teenagers and adults.
After my degree, I did a Masters in Spanish as a Foreign Language at the University of Barcelona and a PGCE to teach Spanish and French at the University of Cumbria in Lancaster.
I have taught Spanish to A level, French to KS4 and Latin to KS3. I have experience teaching different ability groups, from higher to lower, with pupils aged 11-18. Moreover, I have also delivered one to one tuitions, including adults, in order to help students achieve and exceed their targets.
I really enjoy teaching and learning languages, so I am aware of the possible barriers students may face when learning a new language. When teaching, I always try to share this passion for languages with my students by creating fun and interactive lessons using real materials. I would describe myself as a dynamic, reliable and enthusiastic person.
I am committed to plan accordingly to meet every student's abilities and objectives by using enjoyable and challenging activities.
