My lessons are structured, supportive, and fully tailored to each student’s needs. I aim to create a calm environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence in Maths.

Each session follows a clear structure: we begin with a short recap of prior learning, then move into a teaching phase where I break down concepts step-by-step. This is followed by guided practice using exam-style questions, before students attempt questions independently to build confidence. We finish with feedback and a summary to consolidate understanding. I also like to give personalised homework to students, which is optional, but will enforce the learning from the lesson, as with maths practice is key.

For students closer to sitting their exams I like to complete walking talking mocks with them, showing them how to manage their time in the exam, what key phrases to look for, what skills to use for worded questions, etc.

As a qualified Maths teacher in an Ofsted-rated Outstanding school, I focus on helping students understand the why behind the maths, not just memorising methods. I identify gaps in knowledge early and adapt my teaching style to suit each individual, ensuring steady and meaningful progress.

I regularly use GCSE and A-Level (Edexcel) exam questions to develop strong problem-solving skills and exam technique. My lessons are interactive, using shared whiteboards so students can clearly follow each step and stay engaged throughout.

Students can expect to improve their understanding, accuracy, and confidence over time. I have experience supporting a wide range of abilities, from those aiming to secure a pass to high-achieving students targeting top grades.

Where appropriate, I also provide targeted practice and guidance outside of lessons to support continued progress.
