I have experience in tutoring GCSE Mathematics. I email before starting the 1st lesson to ask what goals the student has in mind and what they are currently doing to achieve that. I would then give them a checklist of the GCSE Mathematics specification and have them look through the topics they've covered, and highlight them Red/yellow/green (red=struggling, green= they are confident) so that I could plan each lesson and know what to cover.
During each session, I would ask if they need me to go over anything they've learnt this week in normal school lessons, so that I could help solidify their understanding. Then I would go over the checklist with them and start off with topics highlighted in red. I aim to cover 2/3 topics in 2 hour sessions. First, I would ask them what they currently understand from this topic and explain to them anything they did not understand. To solidify their learning, I would get them to do some exercises from their Maths textbooks. Then, I would go over exam questions with them to cover exam technique. After each lesson, I would give them 3 exam questions from each of the topics covered to do at home (don't worry if the student is busy that week and is unable to do the questions, it is just there as extra practice as I believe doing as many exam questions as possible is important in achieving target grades)

Angela was an amazing tutor and her constant help allowed me to improve my maths scores from 50s to 80s. She teaches in a way that makes me genuinely interested in maths instead of feeling like a chore.

Angela was a great tutor and really helped me develop my understanding of scatter graphs as it was something i was struggling with. Unlike a teacher it was nice to have some 1 to 1 learning and felt as though she really listen to what i was good at and what i struggled with and helped to decide what to work with me on.
