I am an experienced teacher of 18 years. I have worked in a large outstanding upper school for 12 years, teaching all abilities from year 9 up to year 13. I now work in an independent school in Bedford, working with students from year 7 up to year 13.

I like my lessons to be guided by the students needs so that I can help them to reach their potential. I’ll explore different methods of dealing with questions to develop a students problem solving skills as well as their mathematical reasoning.

I’m very patient with my students. I aim to encourage them to communicate their thought processes verbally and use questioning to develop their understanding.

I like to support the work my students are doing in their lessons at school and help them to understand the methods and techniques they have already been shown by their teacher. If I feel there is a better method for a student then I will show this to them and find different approaches to help a student maximise their understanding.

I have tutored a number of students with great success, not only in improving their grades but more importantly their confidence, enjoyment in the subject and their communication skills.

I am happy to work with small groups of students, either in person or online. I have done this in the past and it has worked really well. The price of the session is for an hour, so the cost will not change if I’m working with more than one student at a time. The maximum group size is 3 to allow all students to get effective support
