Over the last two years, I have worked with children and adults between the ages of 7 and 22 in an educational setting. I have assisted with the running of after-school clubs and regular teaching classes. Most of the time, however, I worked as a learning support assistant for students with congenital conditions that impede their learning. I worked in this role at different primary schools across London as well as at Westminster Kingsway College.

In my most recent role, I could rarely predict how my interactions with students would unfold. At times, a student might become distressed or enraged without any discernible reason. In such instances, I would calmly enquire about the cause of their sudden change in behavior and, if possible, remove them from the source of distress. Ultimately, I sought to be an especially attentive listener — someone they could express themselves to without any reservations.

At present, I am looking to assist students, regardless of their age, who are undertaking an ESOL course or are striving to improve their English. I will endeavour to structure my lessons in a way that reflects their needs and interests.
