About me

I have over ten years of experience teaching English full-time now. I mostly teach from home or online, but I have also taught in schools - both classes and individuals - and in offices for my adult EFL students.

My lessons tend to be relaxed and I aim to boost my students' confidence in their own abilities in a fun yet challenging way.

I have over ten years of experience teaching English full-time now. I mostly teach from home or online, but I have also taught in schools - both classes and individuals - and in offices for my adult EFL students.

My lessons tend to be relaxed and I aim to boost my students' confidence in their own abilities in a fun yet challenging way.

All books and materials are included in the price. The first hour is free as I like to use it to assess a student's abilities because all my lessons are bespoke and it is impossible to jump straight into teaching, until I have an idea of a student's individual strengths and weaknesses.

Absolutely brilliant teacher! My son had a year with Claire to prepare for the 11+. He loved his lessons and never complained about the time out of his day. He applied to St Paul’s, UCS and Westminster and got offers from all three. Thank you Claire!

I’m delighted to recommend Claire who is a really outstanding tutor; amongst the Hampstead mums, she is our secret weapon! After several false starts with others, I was given Claire’s name by a friend. She is extremely well qualified and this is her full-time job. She taught my eldest daughter from year 7 through to A level and they still keep in touch, she loved her lessons. My second daughter was underachieving and not very motivated, she started in year 10 and raised her grades from 4 to an 8 with Claire’s help. My youngest son is quick to make excuses and dash off his homework set by Claire, but I’m glad to say she keeps in close touch to ensure that we work together to make sure he achieves what he is capable of. Claire has a real rapport with children and teenagers who love their lessons and her!
