I have had a lot of experiences in working with primary schools, especially doing one to ones with children who have additional needs . Therefore the method I have found exciting and engaging is using a whiteboard and making games , so that way the children won’t feel bored , but they are learning something . The content of course I will use is the primary school curriculum and this is to give children an extra boost in primary so they are all set for secondary or the next key stage above .
This is the way I feel is beneficial to children . Children spend 6-7 hours a day basically sitting and this can be a factor on why they might struggle . My lessons and the way I will teach will help them understand in a better way , so when they learn it in class they will be like oh wow I know this , I’ve done it before . They just need someone to believe in them and need someone to tell them they can do it and if they learn in that way, it will help them in so many ways.
How my lessons will be structured :
Depending on how long the lesson , which I would offer an hour , maybe more if they need
Five minute introduction/ recap from previous lesson
Introduction of the topic -25-30 mins
20 mins doing the the task and reviewing
Lesson plan- nice and straightforward for them.
