My lessons are supportive, structured and tailored to each individual student, with a strong focus on building both understanding and confidence. I aim to create a calm and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and developing their knowledge without pressure or judgement.
Each session is adapted to the student’s needs, whether that is learning new content, revising key topics or improving exam technique. I typically begin by identifying areas of difficulty or gaps in understanding, before breaking topics down into clear, manageable sections. I use explanations, discussion and practice questions to help students fully understand the content, particularly within key areas such as research methods, memory, attachment and social influence.
A key part of my lessons is developing exam skills. I support students with structuring answers, applying knowledge effectively and building confidence with longer questions such as 16-mark essays. We will regularly use past paper questions to practise and track progress.
Alongside academic support, I also help students with motivation, organisation and managing exam stress, drawing on my experience as a Pastoral Year Leader. My background allows me to support not just subject knowledge, but also mindset and confidence.
My approach is always positive, patient and encouraging, with the aim of helping students feel capable, prepared and able to achieve their full potential in Psychology.
I also provide clear feedback and simple next steps after each session, so students know exactly how they can improve. My aim is to build independence and long-term confidence, not just short-term results.
