I am a patient, supportive and highly organised GCSE History teacher who is committed to helping every student reach their potential. I build positive relationships with students, creating a calm and encouraging learning environment where they feel confident to ask questions and develop their understanding. I am reflective, adaptable, and focused on continuous improvement in both teaching and student outcomes.
I have over 2 years experience with teaching GCSE History across a range of abilities, supporting students in developing both subject knowledge and exam skills. I am confident in delivering key GCSE topics including Medicine through Time C1000-present day, Elizabethan England, Weimar and Nazi Germany and the Cold War I have supported students with exam preparation, intervention sessions, and targeted feedback to improve attainment and close knowledge gaps.
My teaching is structured, clear, and exam-focused. I use modelling to demonstrate how to construct high-level answers, breaking down exam questions step by step. I incorporate retrieval practice, low-stakes quizzing, and spaced repetition to strengthen long-term memory. I also use scaffolding and guided practice to support weaker learners, gradually building independence. Lessons are interactive and engaging, with a strong focus on exam technique, keyword knowledge, and structured written responses.
I am also an AQA examiner for the Cold War paper 1B paper!
