I graduated from the University of Leeds with both a Bachelor's and a Master's in Biological Sciences. With a background working in a research laboratory, I like to emphasise the real-world impact of everything we learn! We will also focus on marking criteria to ensure students achieve their very best during tests and formal examinations. I have experience teaching students at every level of biology knowledge. My focus is to make biology less intimidating by creating engaging sessions, where students feel comfortable asking questions and learning!

I have 3 years of experience tutoring 1-to-1 online, as well as experience as a STEM outreach officer, teaching biology lessons to full classrooms.

My lessons revolve around the marking criteria, as this is exactly what students need to be identifying during examinations to achieve top grades. Typically, a session will begin with background learning, where we can build the level of knowledge and focus on a particular areas that need extra support. From there, we identify and note the critical phrases and learning points that are found in the marking criteria. To finish, we apply our learning to past paper questions and work through these together.

All lessons are very adaptable and can be tailored specifically to students' knowledge levels and learning styles. The first lesson is always free - it gives both sides a chance to meet each other and understand teaching requirements and goals.
