Getting a lot of information across very quickly has been the order of business for me since I became a technical lead on my university's rocketry team. I'm also a volunteer maths tutor at said university, helping people out with the various mathematics-for-physics courses on offer. I've also got some research experience in experimental and computational physics.

In my daily life, I'm a master's student in theoretical physics at the University of Edinburgh, with a first class undergrad degree in the same subject from the same uni. My research currently focuses on the links between aperiodic patterns, quantum error correction and some of the funkier theories of quantum gravity.

I'm happy teaching maths and physics up to A-level, and could even be persuaded to teach a bit of uni level material if students are interested! In terms of teaching methods, I firmly believe the greatest gift anyone can give a student is the confidence to strike out on their own. My lessons are based more on problem solving and application than rote memorisation -- that's what maths and physics are about, after all.

Typically, a lesson will be myself and the student working together on at least one question -- whether from an exam paper, a textbook, or even posed by one of us. This is to build confidence with the material and get used to throwing ideas off a wall. The latter, especially, is an invaluable skill for anyone looking for a working understanding of something as abstract as maths or physics.
