Alex Postings

Alex Postings — professionally tutoring since 2018.

Background in ESL, secondary English and GCSE English.

Experience explaining difficult ideas to students with very different abilities, backgrounds and learning needs.

Key insight: the first question is not simply “What does this student struggle with?” but “What kind of support will actually work for them?”

That might mean:
weekly teaching;
more intensive lessons;
written work and feedback;
accountability and check-ins;
or a mixture.

Approach changes according to actual performance rather than forcing every student into the same weekly routine.
English taught through things students already understand and care about.
Finish with English as a useful life skill as well as a GCSE subject.
