My lessons are well-structured, learner-centred, and supportive, with a strong emphasis on developing practical communication skills. Each session begins with clear learning aims so that learners understand what they are working towards and can measure their own progress. Lessons typically include an engaging lead-in activity to introduce the topic, followed by guided tasks that help learners notice, understand, and practise new language in a clear and manageable way. I use a balanced combination of speaking, listening, reading, and writing activities to maintain learner engagement and support different learning preferences.

I place a strong emphasis on interaction, encouraging pair and group work so learners have regular opportunities to communicate, collaborate, and build confidence in using English. Activities are designed around real-life situations such as work, daily routines, appointments, and social interactions, enabling learners to apply their language skills beyond the classroom. I provide clear instructions, regularly check understanding, and adapt tasks to meet a range of learning needs, abilities, and language levels.

I have experience supporting adult learners from diverse backgrounds, including ESOL learners who may lack confidence or have had limited formal education. I create a calm, respectful, and inclusive learning environment where mistakes are viewed as a natural and valuable part of the learning process. Through supportive feedback and encouragement, I help learners develop both their language skills and their confidence to communicate independently. I also use a variety of resources and technology to enhance learner engagement and progress. In addition, I regularly monitor learner achievement through ongoing assessment, reflection, and targeted support, helping learners recognise their successes, set realistic goals, and take increasing ownership of their learning journey.
