With over 15 years of teaching experience in primary education and more than 5 years as a dedicated private tutor, I offer engaging, structured and highly personalised lessons designed to build confidence and secure clear academic progress in maths and English. I currently tutor pupils from Year 2 through to Year 6 across Maths, English and 11+ entrance exam preparation, working closely with both students and parents to ensure learning is purposeful and tailored to individual needs.

Each lesson follows a clear, supportive structure: we begin by revisiting prior learning to strengthen retention and address any misconceptions. New concepts are then introduced through clear modelling, followed by guided practice where I support the student step-by-step. Finally, learners apply their skills independently to demonstrate understanding and build confidence. This gradual release approach ensures steady progress while reducing anxiety around new or challenging topics.

My teaching is interactive and engaging, using a range of resources including concrete materials, visual aids and reasoning-based tasks to deepen understanding. I have extensive experience working with SEN and EAL students, adapting explanations, pace and resources to suit different learning styles and needs.

I am currently supporting Year 2 pupils with early literacy and numeracy, as well as Year 5 and 6 students preparing for SATs and 11+ exams. I have a strong track record of successfully preparing students for grammar school entrance, helping them develop both the skills and exam technique required to achieve their potential. Lessons are always adaptive, responsive and focused on measurable progress.
