Student centered method. I have been teaching for 5 years and I love when students understand terms.
There was a time, I had a student that didnt quite follow up with his peers in class. He was always sitting at the back and did not join in the class and during class work would not participate. I observed it and on the second lesson called him to meet me. I asked why and he told me he doesn't understand and was ashamed to ask question. I assured him there is no useless question and he shouldn't be ashamed. Told him to bring his book and we went through it today. Going through it I realized he wasnt getting the understanding of the terms and was trying to cram the terms. The calculations was due to his inability to understand basic conversions. We went over our notes together during free time and towards the end of the terms he caught up with his peers.
