Why Choose Me as Your Tutor?

I believe that being a good tutor means much more than understanding a subject. It means being able to explain difficult concepts clearly, recognise where someone is struggling and adapt your teaching to help them improve.

As a high-achieving student currently studying Advanced Higher Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, I have a strong understanding of the Scottish curriculum and the demands of SQA examinations.

Having recently completed my own National 5 and Higher qualifications to a high standard (100% in N5 Maths, 93% in Higher Maths and 92% in Higher physics) I am innately familiar with what exactly the SQA requires students to know, and do, to achieve top marks.

I also have practical experience helping others improve. In fourth year, I supported a fellow pupil who initially achieved 49% in an assessment. By working through the material, identifying gaps in her understanding and explaining concepts in a different way, I helped her improve to 73% and achieve an A grade. This demonstrated to me that academic ability is not fixed and that the right support can make a substantial difference.

My lessons focus on understanding rather than memorisation alone. I use worked examples, targeted practice and SQA past-paper questions to develop confidence and examination technique. I also encourage students to ask questions, make mistakes and learn from them in a supportive environment.

My aim is not simply to help students pass their exams, but to give them the knowledge, confidence and skills to achieve the best results they are capable of.
