What my lessons are like
My lessons are designed to make learning clear, engaging, and confidence-building. I begin by understanding the student’s current level, strengths, and areas of difficulty, then tailor each lesson to their specific needs.
I use a combination of clear explanations, worked examples, guided practice, questions, and independent exercises. Rather than simply giving students answers, I encourage them to understand the steps and reasoning behind each solution so they can eventually solve problems independently.
For Mathematics, lessons may cover school curriculum topics, foundational concepts, problem-solving, mental maths, reasoning, revision, and homework support. I also revisit areas where the student may have gaps before progressing to more advanced topics.
My approach is patient and interactive, and I encourage students to ask questions and make mistakes without feeling discouraged. I adjust the pace according to the learner and regularly check their understanding throughout the lesson.
I have experience teaching and supporting learners academically, including providing one-on-one tutoring and helping students develop their understanding, problem-solving abilities, and confidence.
My goal is not only to help students perform better academically, but to help them understand what they are learning, enjoy the learning process, and become more confident and independent learners.
