Hi, I’m Aayush. I achieved a Grade 9 in GCSE Maths and studied both Maths and Further Maths at A-level, with four A* predicted grades. Having completed GCSE Maths relatively recently, I understand the syllabus, the pressure of preparing for exams and the mistakes that commonly cost students marks.

My lessons are friendly, interactive and tailored to each student. I start by understanding their current level, target grade and the topics they find most difficult. I then explain each concept clearly, using step-by-step examples before working through questions together. Once the student feels more confident, I encourage them to solve problems independently so that they can apply the method without relying on prompts.

I believe that understanding why a method works is much more valuable than simply memorising steps. If a student does not understand my first explanation, I will patiently approach the topic in a different way until it makes sense. I also help students identify patterns in their mistakes and turn weaker areas into clear priorities for improvement.

Lessons can include support with topics currently being covered at school, revisiting gaps in foundational knowledge, homework help, targeted revision or preparation using exam-style and past-paper questions. I can also help with exam technique, including showing working clearly, managing time effectively and recognising what a question is asking.

I can support both Foundation and Higher GCSE Maths students. Whether a student is struggling with confidence, working towards a pass or aiming for Grades 7–9, lessons will be adapted to their individual needs and exam board.

As a recent student, I am approachable and able to relate to the challenges pupils experience. My aim is to create a comfortable environment in which students feel able to ask questions, make mistakes and steadily become more confident, accurate and independent mathematicians.
