Many bright Year 5 students still fail the 11+ exam and it’s not because they’re not intelligent.

It’s because the 11+ is not testing what they practise every day in school.

Schools focus on the national curriculum but the 11+ focuses on speed, advanced reasoning, and very specific question styles.
