Advert description
About me! Hi! My name is Elina, and I am from the United Kingdom. I am pursuing a degree in Geography and Oceanography at Bangor University, driven by a strong interest in understanding the planet's landscapes, climates, and oceans. While I may not have formal paid teaching experience, I have successfully mentored and supported students across a range of subjects. I achieved an A in GCSE Geography and am predicted an A or A at A-level, giving me a strong grasp of the curriculum and exam techniques. In English Literature, I earned an A* at GCSE and am predicted a B or A at A-level. I also completed an EPQ focused on English Literature alongside my three A-levels, achieving an A. These accomplishments reflect both my academic strengths and my deep understanding of effective learning strategies, which I bring into every tutoring session. I have also been part of the scouting community for many years and now volunteer weekly as a DBS-checked scout leader with all appropriate training for Cubs, Scouts and my old Explorer unit. My goal is to foster confidence and deepen understanding, particularly during the critical stages from Key Stage 3 (KS3) to A-level. Additionally, my involvement and high/top achievements in musical theatre, singing (Grade 8 distinction) and drama (A** in GCSE) have honed my communication skills and enabled me to develop an approachable teaching style.
In terms of my teaching techniques, I tailor each tutoring session to fit the unique needs, pace, and learning style of every student. With a wide range of resources, I ensure a personalised approach from the very first session
