I teach university students for more than 14 years in Asian, UK and USA based universities

Throughout my 14-year academic career, I have developed substantial expertise in assessment design, moderation, curriculum development, and academic quality enhancement. I have designed course specifications, developed assessment strategies, prepared examination questions, established marking criteria, and implemented a variety of assessment methods, including programming assignments, individual and group projects, practical examinations, quizzes, and coursework. I have particular experience in aligning assessments with module learning outcomes and ensuring that assessment methods appropriately evaluate students’ knowledge, technical skills, and problem-solving abilities. These experiences would enable me to contribute effectively to reviewing examination papers, evaluating marking schemes, scrutinising student work across grade ranges, and reviewing assessment outcomes. My extensive experience in teaching international students across different countries is another important aspect of my suitability for this position. Having worked with students from diverse educational and linguistic backgrounds, I understand the challenges international students face when transitioning into new academic environments, particularly when English is not their first language. I have adopted student-centred teaching, project-based learning, practical activities, and formative assessment to accommodate different learning needs and support students’ academic development. I would bring this perspective to the external examining process, particularly when evaluating assessment accessibility, fairness, and opportunities to enhance the student learning experience.
