I believe teaching techniques need to be adapted to ages and levels. For a child starting to learn French, I would make it so that the classes are based on games and songs, things that will keep a child interested and more or less focused. For an adult, I believe it also varies depending who you are teaching but generally I can give more complexe exercises to do as homework and during the class find memory tricks.
