I like to learn firstly what the student already knows about their subject, through asking basic definition questions or worded exam style questions, or even just asking what they feel is their weakest point. Once I am able to put my foot onto what they struggle with or are more confident on, I plan an engaged lesson going through what they struggle with most in some instances, and refining their knowledge in what they struggle with the least, so that no stone is left unturned.
