I am a very experienced lecturer and tutor with over 30 years experience in teaching and offering student support with learning support, life skills and confidence-building support. Sessions are online, and normally of one hour's duration. ABOUT ME: I have a BA (Hons) degree in Humanities with History, an MA degree in Education, Postgraduate Certificate in Education and specialist teaching, diagnosis and support for students with dyslexia qualification (ADDS diploma). I have taught History, English Literature and Art History at varying levels - including GCSE and A Levels - for over 30 years, and for almost the same amount of time have offered coaching and study support to students. My approach is to allow initial time getting to know the student, creating a relaxed atmosphere and discussing their needs and identifying what support is needed. It is essential that the student feels consulted and heard at all times, in order for them to participate fully in their learning process and maximise their potential for success. Questions and discussions are also vital, so that the student is established as an equal participant in the sessions, rather than being 'talked at'.
