I’m a friendly, patient and creative teacher who loves making learning fun. I enjoy exploring the logic of language, like math.

I am a qualified primary school teacher with experience teaching European Portuguese as a foreign language to children, teenagers and adults from different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. My teaching approach is student-centred, combining Communicative Language Teaching (CLT), task-based learning and differentiated instruction to meet each learner’s needs, abilities and goals. I believe students learn best when they actively participate, explore language patterns and make meaningful connections. I use scaffolding techniques, guided discovery, visual resources, educational games and real-life communication tasks to develop linguistic competence and confidence. I place particular emphasis on active learning, speaking practice and formative assessment, adapting my teaching strategies according to each student’s progress. Rather than focusing exclusively on memorisation, I encourage students to understand the logic behind Portuguese grammar and vocabulary, helping them become more independent and confident learners. My lessons provide a supportive, engaging and inclusive learning environment where mistakes are seen as a natural and valuable part of the learning process. I am fluent in french and have an advanced level of English, allowing me to support students from different linguistic backgrounds while encouraging the progressive use of Portuguese in class.
