Hello! My name is Jasmine and I am here to make lessons fun and interactive.

In class you will find that lessons are super interactive and encourage you to speak on the first day! For example, my favourite being a virtual walk in Feira da Gloria market in Rio, where you will be learning vocabulary, enhancing your listening skills aswell as being introduced to every day conversational speech. And this is for all levels, even those that do not have any experience at all, I guarantee that you will leave the first lesson already knowing how to say your basic greetings and an important grammar rule you will take with you throughout your Portuguese journey.

I enjoy using fun presentation to teach grammar concepts, practice and retain our knowledge via platforms such as quizlet and more. I also am a fan of implementing culture within our lessons to keep you motivated, and aware of the rich culture that Brazilian Portuguese speakers have. If you haven’t ever watched a novela before, be prepared as we will be diving into iconic Brazilian novelas, such as Avenida Brasil, A força do Querer, looking at literature and music to prepare us for real life :)

After teaching Brazilian Portuguese to more than 40 students since 2025 and over 10+ countries, I always look forward to meeting new students and showing them the fun of Portuguese. Besides this, I hold a BA in Modern Languages in Spanish and Portuguese at Queen Mary University of London in 2025. Not forgetting, my favourite moment was being able to exchange at PUC Rio university and have resided back and forth from Brazil and the UK since then.
