I'm an artist and arts professional with over ten years' experience across creative practice, exhibitions and teaching.

My approach to teaching is based on encouraging curiosity, experimentation and confidence. I believe art and design are best learnt through a combination of practical exploration, looking at the work of other artists and designers, and developing ideas through discussion and reflection. I want students to feel comfortable trying things out, asking questions and making mistakes, rather than feeling there is only one right way to approach a creative task. I would begin by finding out about each student's interests, experience and what they would like to achieve. This might be improving a particular technique, working towards a school or college assignment, developing a portfolio or simply exploring a new area of art and design.
