I am a passionate and highly experienced EAL specialist who genuinely loves helping learners develop confidence, fluency, and academic success in English. Teaching has been my vocation for over 30 years, and I still bring the same enthusiasm, creativity, and commitment to every lesson. My approach is based on what I call lively language teaching — lessons that are engaging, interactive, and enjoyable, while always being purposeful and carefully structured to deliver real progress.

All of my lessons are fully bespoke. I take time to understand each learner’s personality, strengths, challenges, goals, and school curriculum, and I design lessons specifically for them. Whether a student needs support settling into an English-medium school, improving academic writing, building spoken confidence, or preparing for exams, lessons are tailored to meet those exact needs. I strongly believe that students learn best when they feel safe, motivated, and encouraged, and I am known for building excellent rapport and a positive learning environment.

I work extensively with Cambridge IGCSE English as a Second Language and IELTS, supporting students from beginner level through to advanced academic English. I also teach GCSE German, offering clear, structured, and confidence-building exam preparation. My experience includes working with children, teenagers, and adults, including international students from Europe, Ukraine, India, Hong Kong, and China, as well as adults who need English for academic study, professional purposes, or visa requirements.

Creativity plays a key role in my teaching. I design my own interactive PowerPoint materials and resources to ensure lessons are stimulating, varied, and effective. I combine speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills with exam strategies and real-world language use, helping learners become confident, independent users of English.

Communication with parents is very important to me. I provide regular feedback, progress updates, and guidance so parents feel fully informed and involved in their child’s learning journey. I am flexible, approachable, and happy to adapt lessons in line with individual goals and school expectations.
