Sue passionately aspires to help achieve personal styles and goals as a creative through her enriching artist knowledge, and dedication to idea generation and problem solving. She was the backbone to the debut of my artistic journey, where I’ve since been able to flourish in confidence as both an artist and an individual. Her comforting, gentle, but charismatic and expressive essence, nurtures a safe space, and encourages and supports achieving your full potential through your own unique journey.

Mrs Tansley supported me through both my GCSE and A-Level photography studies, as well as with my university portfolio applications. She brings care and encouragement when it comes to supporting students, always pushing you to finding the best of your creativity. I went from a shy student who stood behind a lens to an artist who favoured the complexity of exposure times in a dark room. Would highly recommend!!!

Incredibly helpful and has an amazing knowledge over so many fields of creative work. Helped me create a massive portfolio and her ideas and techniques are still things I swear by in my practice today. An amazing teacher and all round amazing person. One of the only teachers I’ve ever had who fully believed in me and showed me my full potential.

I feel very lucky to have had Sue to guide me through my Art studies, with having such an inspiration to follow alongside. From the very beginning Sue encouraged me to explore my creativity and work, with opening up new ways of thinking. Sue’s extensive knowledge of technique, skills and concepts helped me to understand and develop my own personal style. Mrs Tansley has been a huge help with my creative journey. She helped me find my love of photography and gave me lots of inspiration and support during my exams. She never stops a pupil who wants to express themselves and pushes them to go out of their comfort zone to find something else that they may enjoy. She supports students so much and shows that she cares about them and their goals. Her enthusiasm towards her subject allows the students to feel optimistic and excited towards the subject as well. She can be critical in her feedback but it allows the students to push themselves to do their very best and to constantly improve and work harder. I was very appreciative of her efforts when teaching me and I never felt I couldn’t come to her with any problems. She made her class feel safe and fun and I couldn’t have asked for anything better.

She's such a great teacher, she helped me push me out of my comfort zone with my art and explore new ideas. I really enjoyed learning what she had to teach me and always had a great time. She really knowledgeable about a lot of different artists which was so helpful. She is an amazing teacher.
