English and French tutor

Having taught English Language and English Literature to GCSE level, as well as French to A Level, across the syllabi of AQA, Pearson Edexcel IGCSE, OCR, WJEC and other examination boards where applicable, in a variety of schools in the UK and Europe over the past 44 years, I now specialise in remote private tuition via Zoom.

While the focus remains firmly on examination preparation, my teaching approach is holistic. Students are encouraged to extend their cultural awareness, critical thinking and general knowledge through a wide range of carefully selected texts, sources and resources.

I currently concentrate primarily on 11+ and 13+ English preparation. Over the years, many of my students have successfully gained places — and in some cases scholarships — at prestigious independent schools of their choice.

Educational materials offered include my own published examination-preparation writing and poetry anthologies, alongside individually tailored resources designed to meet each student’s needs.

In addition to specialised qualifications in English, French and Social Studies including TEFL and, FLE, my academic qualifications include:
