During lessons, we work towards an as excellent as possible pronunciation, so students are clearly understood by their listeners when expressing themselves in the foreign target language. We work at understanding grammar points covered, followed by exercises, and of course work towards improving conversation ability practicing with listening and speaking exercises. We also work towards preparing exams if applicable. The student then goes and memorize material covered during lessons with the support of CDs between lessons (20 mins a day is advised). Additional homework/exercises may be given particularly for students preparing for exams. Lessons’ formats vary according to students’ requirements and the manner in which the student learns best as well as the time available to study between lessons. Having taught French in UK schools has given me a comprehensive curriculum and exam expectations understanding. I use learning methods which allow students to do a lot of independent studying in order to progress fast should they have the time to study between lessons. Homework is given and strongly encourage for quick progress and better value for money. I also seek to make lessons enjoyable. Lessons are offered online via Skype or in person at my premises. I have 44 years of teaching experience, 5 as a school teacher in Switzerland and 39 as a language tutor in the UK with various agencies and the Ministry of Defence in barracks, the Defence Academy and various companies (Lush, Organix, Wärtsila, teaching French, German, English and Italian from reception age children to adult classes or individuals at all levels.
