Hello! My name is Daniel Perdomo, and I’m an experienced educator and trades professional offering Technical Drawing lessons designed for students in construction, carpentry, and design-related studies. I hold New Zealand Certificates in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Levels 4 and 5) and have taught practical and theoretical subjects to learners at different levels, from secondary students to adult trainees in vocational programmes.
My passion for technical drawing comes from years of working in the building and construction field. I understand how important accurate drawings are for communicating ideas, planning projects, and bringing designs to life. My lessons combine the precision of traditional drafting with the efficiency of modern digital tools such as FreeCAD and AutoCAD, helping students master both hand-drawing and computer-aided techniques.
Each lesson is structured, interactive, and student-centred. I begin by assessing your current knowledge, then guide you step-by-step through the drawing process — from setting up scales and projection methods to creating full plans, elevations, and sections. Learners quickly gain confidence in line conventions, dimensioning, and presentation standards used in the building industry. I also include exercises related to real-world construction projects, such as floor plans, joinery details, or framing layouts, so students can see how drawings connect directly to practice.
For beginners, we start with the fundamentals — understanding scale (for example 1:10 or 1:7), using drawing instruments correctly, and reading simple plans.
