Daniel Perdomo

Hello! My name is Daniel Perdomo, and I’m a qualified and passionate educator offering Numeracy and Spanish lessons for learners of all ages. I hold New Zealand Certificates in Adult and Tertiary Teaching (Levels 4 and 5) and have extensive experience teaching in both academic and vocational settings. My background in adult education, carpentry, and practical training has given me a deep understanding of how people learn differently and how to make learning meaningful, engaging, and achievable.

In my Numeracy lessons, I focus on helping learners build confidence with numbers and apply mathematical concepts to everyday life. Many students feel nervous about maths, so I use a friendly and encouraging approach that breaks complex ideas into simple, visual steps. I design lessons that connect to real-world examples such as budgeting, measuring, trades, or household planning. Students learn through guided practice, problem-solving, and hands-on activities that make sense in their daily lives. My goal is for every learner to leave the lesson thinking, “I can do this.”

I teach a wide range of numeracy topics — from basic operations and fractions to measurement, ratios, percentages, and practical problem-solving. I also support learners preparing for functional-skills or vocational qualifications. My teaching methods include visual aids, real-life examples, and digital resources such as interactive worksheets and short videos. I adapt each lesson to the student’s level and pace so that learning feels achievable and enjoyable rather than stressful.

As a native Spanish speaker, I also offer dynamic and personalised Spanish lessons. I teach beginners, intermediate, and advanced students who want to improve their grammar, pronunciation, conversation, or writing skills. My lessons are interactive and culturally rich — I introduce learners to authentic expressions, music, and cultural aspects from different Spanish-speaking countries to make the language come alive. Depending on your goals, we can focus on conversational Spanish for travel, academic Spanish for exams, or professional communication for work.

I strongly believe that learning a language should be fun, flexible, and motivating. Students are encouraged to speak from day one, without fear of making mistakes. I use dialogues, videos, and role-playing to make learning natural and confidence-building. You’ll quickly notice progress in your fluency, listening, and pronunciation.
