I am a qualified primary teacher with QTS and over 12 years’ teaching experience across both state and private schools. I have taught children across the full primary age range, from EYFS through to Year 6, and have extensive experience supporting children with SATs and 11+ preparation, as well as working with pupils with SEN.
I hold a PGCE from the University of Hertfordshire and a Psychology degree from Oxford Brookes University. Although I left whole-class teaching three years ago, I have continued to tutor throughout this time, working with children on a one-to-one basis and supporting them to develop both academically and personally.
I currently work as a Senior Education Consultant, advising on education policy and schooling, which allows me to remain closely involved with the wider education sector and keep up to date with current approaches and developments in education.
I am a kind, patient and compassionate tutor who understands that every child learns differently. I aim to create a calm, positive and encouraging environment where children feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes and building their confidence. I believe that developing a child’s confidence and enjoyment of learning is just as important as improving their academic ability.
