GCSE & A-level Computer Science and Python tutor, PhD student in AI, 4+ years' experience

I'm Abel, a PhD student in Artificial Intelligence at the University of Kent (BSc in AI from Kent, MSc in AI from City St George's, University of London). I've tutored GCSE Computer Science since 2021, first with GoStudent and then privately with families, and helped students raise their grades, in one case from a 4 to an 8.

I teach GCSE (AQA 8525, OCR J277, Edexcel 1CP2) and A-level (AQA 7517, OCR H446), always following the exact specification your child is sitting.

How lessons work:
• The first lesson is a diagnostic, so we know which topics are secure and which need work
• Each lesson: a topic taught step by step, then exam-style questions marked against the real mark scheme
• Python programming in a live editor we both type into
• Algorithms and trace tables, binary and hex, logic gates, networks and cyber security
• Exam technique for the longer 6- and 8-mark answers
• A-level: data structures, object-oriented programming and guidance on the NEA project (I teach the skills; the student writes the project)

After every lesson, parents get a short written note: what we covered, what went well and the homework. I have my own practice questions and homework sheets for every topic on every exam board.

Lessons are 60 minutes, online, with a shared whiteboard. £49 a lesson, with discounts on packs of 5, 10 or 20 lessons. Weekday evenings and weekends.
