Advert description
I am an experienced primary tutor with a strong background in classroom teaching, learning support, and child development. I work with children across the primary age range, tailoring lessons to each learner’s needs, confidence level, and learning style.
I specialise in phonics and early reading, helping children develop secure decoding skills, reading fluency, comprehension, and a positive relationship with books. I also support writing, spelling, and basic grammar, using structured, evidence-based approaches that build confidence and measurable progress.
As a Teacher of English as an Additional Language (EAL), I support children who are learning English alongside the curriculum. This includes developing vocabulary, speaking and listening skills, reading comprehension, and confidence using English both academically and socially.
I also provide targeted support for children who:
• Need help catching up or consolidating key skills
• Struggle with confidence, attention, or organisation
• Benefit from a calm, structured, and encouraging approach
•
My background includes Montessori education (ages 3–6), higher-level classroom support, and degrees in psychology, which inform my child-centred, supportive teaching style. Lessons are carefully planned, engaging, and adapted to suit individual needs, with clear goals agreed with parents.
I aim to help children feel capable, confident, and motivated, while making real progress in their learning.
