Senior Computer Science and ICT teacher. KS3 & KS4, Programming with 18 years teaching

I have been teaching in mainstream schools for 18 years, during which time I have taught both ICT and Computer Science\. I have also held positions as Head of both ICT and Computer Science departments, giving me extensive experience in curriculum development, teaching and learning, and supporting students to achieve their full potential\.

Throughout my career, I have implemented whole\-school strategies and provided support to Computer Science departments in other schools, particularly where departments required additional guidance and development\. I have also worked as a GCSE examiner for ICT and Computer Science and have experience moderating coursework for an examination board, giving me a strong understanding of assessment requirements and the standards expected at GCSE level.

I am currently a member of the school leadership team, where alongside my teaching responsibilities I lead on pastoral provision, including SEND and student wellbeing. This has strengthened my ability to understand and respond to individual students’ needs, adapt my approach accordingly and build positive relationships that support both learning and confidence
