Advert description
I tutor GCSE and A-level Maths and Physics although I can also teach to younger students, or other subjects if needed. I prefer to tutor in-person because I find tutees will get more from lessons this way. I am based in Wadebridge, Cornwall and I am happy to drive to a student's house.

Having completed my A-levels with 4 A*s (in Maths, Further Maths, Physics, and Computer Science), I am now reading Physics at the University of Oxford.
Throughout my academic life, I have often found myself eager to help my friends with homework and revision, as well as helping other students during lessons. In addition, I have younger siblings and relatives that I frequently tutor. Through all of this, I have gained valuable experience and skills in teaching others which I hope is reflected in my tutoring.
I started tutoring students at a GCSE level several years ago, and have been helping students ever since! Although I only have experience teaching at a GCSE level, I am happy to tutor A-level students within the areas of studies that I learned at college.
In terms of my tutoring, I believe I provide enthusiastic and relevant support for GCSE students. Predominantly, I try to help students get to point where once-challenging topics finally 'click'! I use example questions to demonstrate methods that I found to be most intuitive and helpful when I was a pupil. This often entails using techniques and ideas that aren't taught (or explained fully) in schools, but should be!
In my experience, students can engage much more easily through face-to-face teaching, opposed to online lessons, especially for students who usually struggle to focus during school. This is why I highly recommend in-person tutoring, so tutees can get the most from lessons.
