Advert description
It is one thing to be able to play an instrument (or sing) well and another to be a versatile musician. For beginners, it takes a certain amount of time and effort to build the motor skills necessary to play an instrument enough to play a song/track/piece while for the experienced player, it takes a certain amount of experiential knowledge and theory to be able to appeal to an audience given the circumstances.
Music arguably presents more puzzles than any other art. Is there an objective measure as to what makes good music? Or is music subjective to the listeners' ear? Thus, the question of what exactly makes good music is nearly, to some degree, proportionate to the same question "What makes a good musician?"
My aim is to help you put the pieces together. Whether you're a hobbyist, accompanist, play in a band or are looking to get into the music industry. I will help you build your own impression of yourself, as a musician.
I have had an extensive experience of performing live music (as a guitar player) for a living between 2004 and 2020 playing a wide variety of music. I have also taught music (guitar, keyboard, music theory and performance) privately in between 2011 to present. I have performed for audiences ranging from private events, pubs, restaurants, hotels to front acts and sessions for signed artists and independent artists alike.
My background in Philosophy and Metaphysics allows me to approach and cater each session/lesson to the student's need, regardless whether they are complete beginners or experienced. To the complete beginner, I am able to provide (take-home) practice routines to help build good playing habits. To the experienced player, I am also able to impart principles, practical and technical skills (that of which I endeavoured to learn theoretically and from experience with fellow musicians and students alike over the years) necessary in a live performance either with a group or solo. All these are individualised based on the student's need and goals.
Even the simplest concepts of music can be profound; the same music can be played or expressed in nearly a myriad of ways and it is up to the musician to be able to elicit that message, and that musician is YOU!
