English Teacher with 23 years experience of tutoring students successfully in EFL for Cambridge ESOL, IGCSE and IELTS

I have 23 years experience in Education as a classroom teacher, online tutor, Head of Department, Assistant Head, SENCo, Head Teacher and Education Advisor. I have BA Hons in English and Drama, Film and Television (Leeds), MEd in SEND (Birmingham) and SQH (Aberdeen). I am Cambridge CELTA qualified and have experience teaching Cambridge ESOL and IELTS at all levels, including marking IGCSE Second Language examination papers. I have tutored students to success in many countries across the world from EFL beginners to budding brain surgeons needing IELTS for university entry. I am also an experienced SENCo and assessor for examination assessment arrangements (Level 7).

I have spent my career teaching in state schools and independent schools, as well as overseas. I live on a remote Scottish island and, having returned from an overseas contract, I am now committed to online tutoring, rather than have to leave my beautiful island and community to work full time in a school again. I love teaching students, whatever your age and ability, and I am not ready to hang up my boots just yet!

I am a Safeguarding officer and have completed extensive Safeguarding and Prevent training to make your online experience as safe as possible.
